HER STORY

Jackie M. Stebbins was an accomplished attorney who operated her own law firm, Stebbins Mulloy, before she was diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis. Autoimmune encephalitis is a rare and can be fatal brain illness that is caused by a person’s immune system mistakenly attacking healthy brain cells. Jackie is now a writer and motivational speaker. She uses her high energy personality, positive attitude, and story to spread awareness about autoimmune encephalitis and to share her inspirational resilience.

Just like I’m an active learner, I’m an active pray-er. When it was my health, and I could only do so much to manage the unmanageable, I turned to my rosary. When I had nothing but fear, faith, and a dash of hope, I repeatedly prayed Hail Marys. And I won’t stop.
